Capability profile · Bespoke calibration
Bespoke high-performance projects
Once forced induction, fuel supply or exhaust routing has been changed, a ready-made calibration no longer matches the full setup. These projects therefore use a bespoke approach based on the hardware actually fitted, rather than an off-the-shelf file.
Not a customer case study; no result figures are published.
What this profile describes
- Let the hardware define the limits, not a desired number
- Obtain the complete parts list before the project begins
- Clarify intended use and legal scope in advance
What this project type covers
A modified vehicle is not simply a standard car with accessories. Changes to forced induction, injection or exhaust routing alter the operating boundaries enough to require a dedicated calibration.
What the work involves
Work starts with a complete record of the fitted parts, using actual designations rather than broad categories. Calibration and logging then progress through several load stages until behaviour is consistent across the operating range.
Where the limits lie
If fuel supply, cooling or mechanical condition cannot support the objective, the objective is revised instead of stretching the software beyond those limits. A calibration that works on paper but damages components in use is not an acceptable result.

Software scope
- Develop a bespoke calibration rather than adapting an existing file
- Match fuelling, ignition and boost control to the installed hardware
- Align the transmission with the torque actually delivered
Diagnostic checks
- Record the complete hardware list with actual part designations
- Check fuel supply, cooling and charge-air routing
- Assess mechanical condition before any software decision
Safeguards
- Back up the starting software even when the vehicle arrives already modified
- Approve changes in stages rather than making one large jump
- Define stop criteria before the first measurement drive
