C2494 concerns the power supply to pedal sensor B37/1: the electrical side of a sensor, not the hydraulics. Codes like this frequently lead to unnecessary replacement of braking components.

The pedal sensor detects the driver’s braking request. If it fails, the control unit loses the input needed to calculate braking pressure.
What the code does not tell you
- The code concerns the sensor’s supply, not necessarily the sensor itself.
- Wiring, connectors and ground connections are part of the inspection. Replacing a component before these checks is premature.
- The code states what the control unit reports, not which component must be replaced.
- SBC is a safety-critical braking system. A fault code alone cannot establish whether the vehicle is safe to drive.
