What the code does not tell you
- A reached service threshold is a counter message, not proof of a fault.
- The fixed service-threshold figures often quoted online do not come from the diagnostic register and are not repeated here.
- The code states what the control unit reports, not which component must be replaced.
- SBC is a safety-critical braking system. A fault code alone cannot establish whether the vehicle is safe to drive.
How we approach it
We read the complete fault memory before making a decision. The offered service for C2498 remains limited to the counter reset on the vehicle; we do not offer mechanical SBC repairs.
- Counter reset on the vehicle: fixed €50. Appointment exclusively by WhatsApp; send any known fault code if available.
